its amazing, likley the single most important thing to ever be thought of. if media literacy predated the wheel, we’d all be driving around on sentences and paragraphs.
“Media Literacy” is literature expressed on different medium; first on cave walls and now using computers.
To me, media literacy is the ability to obtain information for knowledge and understanding through media sources (mostly the internet).
Media literacy is using new technology to read and write. It’s being able to use new resources that weren’t formally available to students before. New information can be used to help students more quickly and giving a wide variety of sources.
To me, the term “media literacy” means being able to read and write using the most recent technology. It is important for students to be literate in any case, but each day it becomes more and more crucial for them to be literate in terms of different, more advanced media. The internet is becoming more and more influential on our daily lives each and every day, so by enabling our students to actively participate in communication in the media, we are giving them essential tools that they will be able to use for the rest of their lives.
Being media literate to me means that you are capable of using new technology such as computers and the internet. In being able to use them I don’t mean knowing how to decode a complex password to a program but just being able to check your mail, surf the web and use the functions.
“media literacy” represents one’s ability to effectively use computers, the internet, and other forms of technology to communicate and receive knowledge through newly found information.
To me, media literacy is being able to fully comprehend and utilize new types of media. An example of a new type of media would be the computer and its parts. There are endless amounts of information, activities, and opportunities to learn something new through media. It is important that each individual gain media literacy to fully understand and function in a technologically advancing world.
Media Literacy is the ability to use forms of media (audio,computer/blogs, video, podcast etc.) as a form of instruction and learning. I’ve used blogs in a classroom to learn and share with others. It allows for constructive criticism and input as well.
“Media literacy” is expressing literature, reading and writing, on different mediums.
Media Literacy is the ability to use old and new forms of technology in order to gain and spread information efficiently. There are many different types of media such as computers which require a certain amount of skill and knowledge to use successfully. Because technology is constantly changing and progressing, so must our skills with media literacy.
Media literacy means the understanding of different forms of media. TO me, this includes reading the newer forms of media as well as the original forms of media. The newer media that is becoming increasingly popular is not easy for everyone to understand such as; pod casts and blogging. In this growing age of technology, there are new forms and each person should really try to become more knowledgeable. Teachers are the ones who are chosen to make this more possible for younger generations. Each generation helps to advance the future as a whole of the human race and its ability to connect to each other and to gain the tools necessary to do this.
To me, media literacy is being able to use and understand different media sources. Such media includes but is not limited to the internet, blogs, audio equipment, and podcasts. A person must be media literate in order to learn information that is presented through the media. I believe that the media is an extremely engaging way for students to learn. Because we are moving towards a more technologically advanced world, it is more important to be media literate.
I think media literacy means being able to comprehend new technologies. With the explosion of the media and different technologies that have erupted in my generation, I look at my parents and realize that they are, I guess I could call them, “technologically impaired.” It seems like every day something new is introduced into the technological world, and it is something that only some of us are fluent in. Being literate in the media world is extremely beneficial however, at times I feel as though people are too dependent of it.
Media literacy means a new, innovated way to introduce aspects of the English language through technology based functions. Things such as websites, blogs, pod casts, and i pods allow society to be connected in several different ways that are still evolving today.
Media literacy is the active understanding of common forms of modern media. The abilities to listen to the news, to read an online article, to post a comment in a blog, and even to correctly parlay information are all examples of media literacy. “New” media literacy represents to me the line between those who can easily navigate the internet and/or computer, and those who can’t.
“media literacy” means one’s ability to effectively use computers, the internet, and other sources of technology to successfully gain knowledge through newly found information.
Media literacy to me means that a person is capable of performing the basic functions of using such things as surfing the web, online research, and using e-mail. The knowledge of using audio literary techniques and print techniques is also vital to the education system. Being literate in this sense is important to me because in this new age of technology, such things as communication is easier through online resources, as well as online learning.
Media literacy seems to be a term created for the “computer age.” It sounds to me to be one’s ability to find, understand, and perhaps even publish their own ideas or information via the web.
Media literacy means being able to use new types of media to gather and share information. Because technology is changing, it can be difficult to be literate in all fields of media.
